今年のイースターサンデーは、4/17、この日私はイースターチャリティー茶会に参加してきました。I participated in an Easter Charity Chakai on Easter Sunday April 17th of this year.
会場となったのは、京都にある築120年の町家を修復したゲストハウス、胡乱座です。It was held at a renovated 120 year old machiya in Kyoto called Uronza Guesthouse.
茶室はイースターにぴったり！Their tearoom was perfect for Easter!
襖の桜絵、飾り柱の桜が、春の気分を盛り上げてくれます。The painted cherry tree on the sliding doors and the decorative cherry trunk at the front were exciting to see.
イースターにちなんだ道具は、ほとんどが海外の別の用途に使われていたもので、いわゆる「見立て」でした。Most of the Easter-related utensils had been used for other purposes overseas and the style is called 'mitate' or 'adapted utensils'.
日本の伝統的な茶道の世界にはない、見立ての道具の取り合わせは本当に面白いのです！It was very interesting to see the arranged 'mitate' rather than the traditional Japanese ones!
参加者の注目を集めた、水注ぎに使われたカワセミは、イギリスのティーポットだそうです。Us attendants were attracted to the kingfisher teapot from the UK, which was used as a mizusashi.
ガラスの茶入れはカナダ製…こちらはシュガーポットかな？もともと何だろう？I wonder what the beautiful Canadian glass container was originally used for ... maybe a sugar pot?
お茶碗も興味深いものばかり。Every single tea bowl was interesting.
私は蝶がビッシリ描かれたお茶碗でいただきました。Mine was the one with lots of painted butterflies.
この日の為に作られたお菓子の銘は「希望」、お茶銘は「来福」。The sweets made especially for this event were named 'Hope' and the tea was named 'Future Happiness'.
お菓子と同様に、実は私も帯と帯締めはウクライナを、意識した色使いでした。As matching the sweets, I wore a yellow obi and a blue obijime which are the colors of Ukraine.
この日の収益金は、ウクライナを支援するポーランドの団体に送られるそうです。The money raised is going to be sent to a Polish group supporting the Ukraine.
主催者のコレット・モーリン先生のおもてなしセンスに感銘を受けました！The organizer Ms .Colette's sense of hospitality was very impressive!
素晴らしい平和なひと時を、ありがとうございました。I much appreciated this peaceful moment!
