桜の見頃がピークの先週末、残念ながら日曜日の浜松は雨。
Cherry blossom viewing was at its peak last weekend in Hamamatsu but, unfortunately, we had rain on Sunday.
In Hamamatsu.comさんが主催する浜松城公園のお花見は、事実上中止となりましたが、かわりに会場を中心街のイベントスペースに変更し、パーティが開催されました。
An ohanami event at Hamamatsu Castle Park organized by In Hamamatsu.com was cancelled but another party was held at an event space downtown.
桜の木の下で和む着物姿の私たち、を思い描いていた私は、正直ちょっと残念だったんですが…
To be honest, I was a little disappointed because I was looking forward to relaxing under the cheery trees in our kimono.
ところが、会場となった駐車場8階に行ってみると、なんだかいい雰囲気になっているではありませんか！
But when I arrived at the event space on the 8th floor of a parking lot building, I found there was a nice atmosphere!
所々に見られる桜の木のデコレーションは、ビルオーナーのご配慮だとか、いいですね！
There were a few branches of cherry blossoms put up here and there by the building's event space owner, and that was a nice touch!
広いフロアの中央には、囲炉裏のあるちょっとした和室が…
There was also a small Japanese-style room with a sunken hearth in the middle of a large floor.
そして、地ビールの店、ティルナノーグのビールと、ワインバー、ラ・キャシェットのワイン、そしてそれぞれの店の軽食が用意されていました。
And, there was beer from local craft beer bar Tir-na-n-Og, wine from La Cachette, and some light food from both places.
私は早速、わびさびジャパン ペールエールと、「お花見満喫セット」を購入。
I quickly bought some 'Wabi-Sabi Japan Pale Ale' and an 'Enjoy Hanami to the Max' set.
着物での来場者にはスウィーツのプレゼントがあり、雨にもかかわらず着物姿が多かったですよ。
They gave some confectionary gifts to people wearing kimono and, actually, quite a few people were in kimono in spite of the rain.
アメリカ人とイギリス人のふたりの女の子、とても着物が似合って可愛らしいでしょ。
Have a look at the two ladies from the U.S. and UK. They look lovely and suit kimono very well don't they?
囲炉裏を囲んで、お喋りの尽きない私たちでした。。。
We chatted on and on around the sunken hearth.
