お寺でロカビリー Rockabilly Temple≫

ちょうど一年前、「広厳寺のキャデラック」というタイトルで書いた私の第一回目のブログ、覚えていらっしゃるでしょうか。
Just a year ago, I wrote my first blog entitled, 'Kogonji's Cadillac'. Anyone remember?
年に一度の広厳寺のイベント、先週の日曜日は、ビリー諸川&ハーベストムーンを迎え、ロカビリーな夜を楽しんできました。
This annual event was last Sunday at Kogon-ji and they invited 'Billy Morokawa & Harvest Moon' ... so we enjoyed a night of rockabilly.
前座には、ザザシティ浜松を中心に活動している、昭和ビート歌謡のジグソーパズルが登場。
The opening act was Showa beat pop band 'Jigsaw Puzzle', who sometimes perform in front of Zaza City in Hamamatsu.
ジュリーの「時の過ぎ行くままに」「勝手にしやがれ」などなど、懐かしいナンバーに耳を傾けながら、振る舞われた焼酎で温まりました。
I warmed myself up with hot shochu while listening to nostalgic numbers such as Julie's 'Toki-no-Sugiyukumamani' and 'Katteni-Shiyagare' among others.
そして、この日のメインゲスト、ビリー諸川&ハーベストムーンが登場！
After that, the main act of Billy Morokawa & Harvest Moon took center stage!
エルビス・プレスリーの「ハートブレイクホテル」など50年代のロックンロールから「上を向いて歩こう」まで、レパートリーのジャンルの幅は広い広い。
Their musical catalog is large, from old time 50's Rock n' Roll like Elvis Presley's 'Heartbreak Hotel' to the Japanese 'Ue-wo-muite Arukou'.
ロカビリー歌手というよりはコメディアン風の出で立ちですが、歌声は本物！聞き惚れてしまいました。
The band talked more like comedians than rockabilly singers, and Billy's singing was amazing! I was enchanted.
そして、一曲終わる毎の巧みな話術に、本堂は湧きっぱなし！
The temple sanctuary was brightened up by Billy's comic schtick between songs.
現在は横浜を拠点に活躍されているビリーさん、火曜日深夜、ラジオ日本のTHIS IS ELVISなど、ラジオ番組もいくつかお持ちのようですよ。
Billy is active around the Yokohama area and hosts some radio programs; one of them, 'THIS IS ELVIS' is on late Tuesday nights.
この日は、ビリーさんの少し後輩の、同じくロカビリー歌手、清美さんも突如加わり、大盛り上がり！
After the first set, a rockabilly singer named Kiyomi, who is Billy's younger friend, suddenly jumped on stage and the performance heated up!
ド派手なタトゥーがクールな清美さん、客席で一際目立っていましたが、アーティストだったんですね、納得です。
I learned that Kiyomi is also a musician and saw that he attracted a lot of audience attention with his flashy tattoos.
静岡でバーとブティックを経営してらっしゃるというこの方、実は浜松出身だそうですよ。
Originally from Hamamatsu City, Kiyomi now runs a bar and boutique in Shizuoka City.
会場にはロカビリーファッションを纏ったファンがちらほら。。
Some fans in the audience wore their rockabilly garb.
アンコールの頃には、みなさんこぞってロカビリーダンスを踊り出し、住職も、ほらこの通り。
By encore time, everybody was excited and the rockabilly jive was in full effect ... even the Chief Priest was dancing.
やりますね、19代目住職！！
Kudos to you, 19th Chief Priest!
