Hamanako Villa Minivelo 浜名湖別荘ミニベロ≫

I went cycling around Lake Hamanako last weekend and the weather was perfect. お天気最高の先週末、浜名湖周辺をサイクリングしました。
I've been around Lake Hamana many times and this time I decided to check out a famous villa on the north side. 浜名湖には何度も訪れているので、今回は浜名湖北側の有名な別荘に行ってみることに。
This summer villa is located at the end of the tiny Gomi Peninsula just south of Nishi-Kiga Station. この避暑のための別荘は、西気賀駅の南側の小さな五味半島の先端にあります。
The place is owned by the family which founded Shizuoka Bank. こちらの別荘は、静岡銀行を興した家族が所有しています。
You have to walk up a winding stone and concrete approach road before you can see the house. 石とコンクリートの曲がりくねった道を登ると、住宅が現れます。
The buidling isn't very big or impressive by today's standards but the property is quite large with beautiful views of Lake Hamana. 建物自体はさほど大きくもなく、今日の標準と比べるとそんなに驚くこともない感じではありますが、敷地はかなり広く、浜名湖を一望できます。
The house is famous for a summer visit by the Imperial Family in August of 1968. この別荘は、1968年8月に天皇御一家がお越しになったことで知られています。
The current Emperor was just a young boy at that time and the recently retired Emperor was still the Crown Prince. 現在の天皇陛下がその時にはほんの少年で、上皇様が皇太子でした。
Everyone looks so young! どなたもすごくお若い。

Around the house there are flower gardens and the lawn is still well manicured. 家の周りには花壇と芝生があり、今もよく手入れされています。
The swimming pool seems to be empty of water though. プールには水が無さそう。
It's interesting to see the natural rock tiling that was so popular in the 50s and 60s on the wall ... I like it! 自然の岩を活かしたタイルの壁は、50年代と6年代にはとても人気だったのですが…今も素敵ですね。
While the Imperial Family would probably not visit such a small villa today, it was their playground for visit a little over 50 years ago. 今日は、もうこんな小さな別荘に天皇御一家がみえることはないでしょうが、ほんの50年前にはここは遊び場だったのです。
It's an interesting little piece of Hamamatsu City history. これも浜松のちょっとした歴史ですね。
As for our minivelo cycling, we rode 54.5km at a leisurely pace around the lake ... good fun! ミニヴェロで、のんびりペースで浜名湖をぐるっと54.5kmサイクリングしました…楽しかった！
