The cherry blossom season this year feels a little different than usual due to the Covid19 pandemic. 今年の桜の季節は、新型コロナウィルスの蔓延のせいで、例年とはちょっと違う趣です。
The cherry trees still look beautiful though. 桜はそれでもやっぱり美しいですけどね。
Google has compiled an interesting 'COVID-19 Community Mobility Report' of mobile usage statistics for various areas around the world.
Googleが、世界各地域における携帯電話使用について、「コロナウィルスの社会的可動性」の統計を集計しました。

It basically shows where people are going in their daily lives. その統計は、人々が日常的にどこに行っているのかを示しています。
Below is from the Japan data for our home in Shizuoka Prefecture. 下のデータは、私の住む、日本、静岡県のものです。
Recent data is compared to a baseline of normal (although the data used is already a week old). ここ最近のデータ（ただし、1週間前のもの）が、平常時の基準値と比較されています。
Retail & Recreation is down by -17% compared to usual. 平常時に比べ、小売および娯楽は、17%も落ち込んでいます。
Grocery and Pharmacy are down by only -4%. 食品と薬品は、4%の落ち込みにとどまっています。
Parks are down by -47%. 遊園地は、47%もの落ち込み。
Transit Stations are down -38%. 運送、運輸は38%の落ち込み。
Workplace is down by only -6%. 仕事場は、7%のみの落ち込み。
Residential Usage is up by +7%. 住居使用は7%伸びています。
So it seems people in Shizuoka Prefecture are starting to stay home more but still basically going to work. 静岡県民は、普段より在宅時間を伸ばしつつも、まだ仕事に行っていることがこれで分かります。
Japanese Prime Minister Abe is expected to declare a National State of Emergency very soon so it will be interesting to see how these statistics change. 安倍首相も近々国家非常事態を宣言するのではないか、と見られていて、それによりこの統計がどのように変わるのか、注目したいところです。
