I went to an interesting art exhibition yesterday at Create Hamamatsu. 昨日、クリエート浜松で開催されている、興味深い美術展に行ってきました。
The works were done by 11-year-old, third-generation Japanese-Brazilian artist Amanda de Godoy. 作品を手がけたのは、11歳の日系3世ブラジル人、アマンダ・デゴドイ。

About 50 large and small works were on display and for sale. 50点ほどの大きな作品、小さな作品が展示され、販売されていました。
Amanda was born in Hamamatsu City and has severe autism. アマンダは浜松市に生まれ、重度の自閉症を持っています。
Amanda first starting making art when she was just 7-years-old and the quality of the work greatly surprised her mother. アマンダが芸術作品を手がけはじめたのは7歳のころ。そして、その完成度の高さは、アマンダのお母さんを驚かせました。
Looking at Amanda's color field style paintings, I was impressed by the colour selection and composition. アマンダの色彩面に重きを置いた絵画の、色選びや構成に驚かされました。
Her works have a nuance and sophistication that is quite stunning for an 11-year-old girl. 彼女の作品には、11歳とは思えない、陰影や精巧さがあります。
Unfortunately, I caught Amanda's exhibition on the last day and the show is now over. 残念ながら、私が伺ったのは最終日だったので、美術展はもう終了しています。
But I'm sure her work will be shown again soon and it'll be very interesting to see how Amanda progresses her art in the future. しかしながら、彼女の作品をまたすぐ目にすることがあると思いますし、アマンダの作品がこれからどんな風に変わっていくのかを楽しみにしたいと思います。
