Sakushima Minivelo II 佐久島ミニベロ２≫

Last Sunday some PoPBunka! students went to Sakushima Island in Mikawa Bay with minivelo bicycles. 先日の日曜日、PoPBunka!の生徒さん数人と、三河湾の佐久島にミニヴェロで出かけました。
This was our second visit to Sakushima with minivelos and the weather was perfect! ミニヴェロで佐久島に行くのは、これが二回目。今回はお天気最高でした。
At the port, we got a free copy of the new 2018 Sakushima Island map .. very helpful! 港で、2018年度版佐久島マップを無料でいただきました…すっごくありがたい！
After disembarking the ferry, we lazily rode around the north side of the island. フェリーを降りてから、島の北側をミニヴェロでブラブラ。
There were lots of beautiful views here of Mikawa Bay and the Sakushima seashore and we stopped in at the art installations. 三河湾や佐久島の海岸には、素敵な場所がたくさんあるので、アート展示にも立ち寄ってみました。
I’ll leave the artworks as a surprise and won’t post photos of them ... you'll have to visit Sakushima to see them! 私も「サプライズ」として美術作品を残しますが、写真は載せずにおきますね…佐久島に行かないと、見られませんよ！
For lunch we had an amazing seafood BBQ of locally caught shellfish, octopus, and black sea bream. お昼には、すごい海鮮バーベキュー！地元で取れた、貝に蛸に、クロダイ！
When the octopus course arrived we were very surprised ... really, an octopus on a plate! 蛸が運ばれてきたときには、とってもビックリしてしまいました…本当に、お皿の上に蛸が載ってるんだもの！
There now seems to be more cafes and coffeeshops on Saksushima than before, so we had a few desserts including this macha shaved ice. 以前より、佐久島にもカフェやコーヒーショップが出来てきました。私達も、この、抹茶氷などデザートをいただきました。
After lunch, we took a 30 minute hike of the interior forest area to visit a small shrine and made sure the local mosquitos enjoyed a nice lunch too. 昼食後には、30分ほど、内陸部の森をハイキングして、小さな神社におまいりしました。地元の蚊さんたちにも、たっぷりお昼ご飯を召し上がっていただきました。
We then zoomed around the south part of the island on our minivelos and explored some of the beautiful oceanside areas. そして、今度はミニヴェロで島の南側を周り、海辺の美しい場所を探検しました。
Finally, we rode over to the west side of Saksuhima and took a picture in the Ohirune House ... we all took a nap together. そして、最後に、佐久島の西側を回って、「お昼寝ハウス」で写真を撮りました…みんなでお昼寝しちゃいました。
After another coffee and cake break, we caught the late afternoon ferry back to Nishio City. そしてもう一回コーヒーとケーキの休憩をして、夕方のフェリーで西尾市に戻りました。
Fun fun day! I'm sure we'll be back again .... 楽しい、楽しい、一日でした！また絶対、行かなきゃね…
