先週、私はオーロラを見る為にカナダのイエローナイフに行ってきました。
Last week I went to Yellowknife in Canada to see the aurora.
イエローナイフはとても小さな街ですが、オーロラを見る為に世界中から観光客が来ていました。
Yellowknife is a tiny town but there were tourists from all over the world coming to see the aurora.
イエローナイフに着くと、街中の電光掲示板は-25度！
When I arrived in Yellowknife, the electronic signs in town showed -25'C degrees!
オーロラの観測地点まで約1時間くらいかけて、犬ぞりで行きました。
It took about one hour to get to the aurora viewing area by dog sled.
犬たちも、そりが走り出すまではブルブルと凍えていました。
The dogs were shivering from the cold until they started running with the sleigh.
凍った湖の上で、夜の22時〜深夜3時までオーロラを鑑賞しました。
From 10pm until 3am, I enjoyed watching the aurora on the frozen lake.
私達は、テントの中で暖を取りながら待ち、オーロラが出てきた時だけ、外に出ました。
Most of the time we waited in a heated tent and only after the aurora appeared did we go outside.
私は速く動くオーロラカーテンを観ることができました。
I could see the fast moving curtain of aurora light.
とても美しくて感動しました。
It was very beautiful and I was very moved.

カナダ入国時、空港で私はボディチェックにひっかかり、別室へ連行されました。
At the immigration counter in the Canadian airport, I was caught in a body check then led into a side room.
空港スタッフに囲まれ、パニックになる中、私はお腹と背中にホッカイロを貼っていることを思い出しました！
I was in a panic surrounded by the inspection officials ... then I remembered that I had put heat packs all over my back and stomach.
ホッカイロは全て没収されました。
They were all confiscated.
でも、すっぽんぽんにされなくて良かった！
Anyway, I wasn't stripped searched, so that was good!
