I was cleaning up the PoPBunka! library shelves in our office today and found some books.
今日、ここポップブンカの本棚を整理していたら、本が何冊か出てきました。

A few years back, I helped a Japanese cardiac surgeon pass his United States Medical Licensing Examination.
数年前に、日本人の心臓外科医がアメリカ医師国家試験に合格するためのお手伝いをしまして。

I found the 12 textbooks we used for that test and they were quite heavy.
そのテスト勉強のための問題集が12冊も出てきて、とっても重かったんです。

There were books on pediatrics, psychiatry, medicine, surgery, obstetrics & gynecology, preventive medicine, public health, and the USMLE test.
それらは小児医学、精神医学、薬学、手術、産婦人科、予防薬学、公衆衛生、とアメリカ医師国家試験の本です。

I'm guessing they weighed about 20 kilograms in total.
多分僕の予想では全部で20キロくらいの重さかな。

So, if you can cram this 20 kilograms of medical knowledge into your head, then you can probably be an American doctor too.
つまり、20キロもの医学的知識を頭に詰め込めば、多分アメリカの医者になれるって訳。

And of course you must speak English near fluently.
もちろん英語をほぼ流暢に話す必要がありますが。

I'm not planning on being a doctor so I threw them all in the recycle bin.
僕はお医者さんになる予定はないので、それらをリサイクルステーションに持って行きました。

I also found an elastic ball that I'd bought at some museum gift shop 10 years ago.
10年前に美術館のお土産店で購入した跳ねるボールも見つけました。

It seems to have gone bald since then.
その時よりちょっと薄くなったかな。

Anyways, more cleaning and organizing to do tomorrow too.
とにかく、明日はもうちょっと掃除と整理整頓もする必要があります。
