Last week, a retired Yamaha Music engineer was talking with me about cassette tapes.
先週、ヤマハで昔エンジニアをしていた人が、僕にカセットテープの話をしてきた。
He was on the project teams during the 80s and 90s developing various cassette audio products.
彼は80年代と90年代にプロジェクトチームにいて、数々のカセットテープ型の音源商品を開発していたらしい。
Recently, the hipster class in the United States has taken a nostalgic interest in cassette tapes.
最近、アメリカのヒップスターがカセットテープにノスタルジックな興味を示していたね。
They have become trendy in a retro-nostalgic way, and some music companies are even issuing new music on them.
カセットテープはレトロ•ノスタルジック路線で定番になっていて、いくつかのレコード会社はカセットテープで新しい作品を売り出している程なんだ。
While talking with the engineer, we reminisced about the old technique of winding the tape using a pen or pencil.
