ばんざいっ！

I was a top class bargain hunter last Monday.
月曜日にボクが買ったのは、トップクラスのバーゲン品。

I sometimes go to recycle shops to have a look around.
ときたまリサイクルショップでいろいろ見て回るようにはしてるんだ。

Last Monday I noticed 2 white chairs for sale at my favourite recycle shop.
そしてお気に入りのショップで月曜に見つけたのが、特売の白イス2脚。

They were marked at ¥980 each.
つけられていた値段は1脚980円。

I knew the design of the chairs but I thought they were Chinese copy products.
このイスのデザインを知ってはいたんだけど、きっと中国製のコピー品だと思ってたんだ。

They are called 'Ant Chairs' and they were designed by a very famous Danish Architect named Arne Jacobsen.
そのイスは「アント・チェアーズ（蟻の椅子）」というデザインで、アルネ・ヤコブセンというデンマーク人が設計したもの。

He has designed many famous chairs and buildings around the world.
彼は世界各地で有名なイスや建物をたーくさん設計しています。

Anyways, I turned the chairs over and looked at their bottoms... and they were real!
まぁともかく、そこでイスをひっくり返して裏を見てみると...なんと本物！

Hurray!
やったー！

I guess the recycle shop staff didn't understand their value.
多分、買い取りの時にこのイスのこと知らなかったんじゃないかな。

I noticed that the same Ant Chair sold on Yahoo Auctions last week for ¥24500.
だって先週のYahooオークションでは同じデザインのイスが24500円だったよ。

About the chair; it's called 'Ant Chair' because the cut of the chair was inspired by the shape of an ants torso.
このイスのお話；「アント・チェアー」の名前は、このイスが蟻の胴の形からインスパイアされてデザインされているから。
