Here's an interesting story from the Canadian news.
カナダよりおもしろいニュースが届いた。

Two Canadian teenagers from Toronto, both 17 years old, sent a lego man into space.
トロント出身の2人の若者（両方とも17歳）がレゴマンを宇宙に送った。

They attached the lego man to a homemade weather balloon with four cameras mounted in the balloon basket.
4つのカメラを搭載した手作りの気象観測気球に、レゴマンを取り付けた。

Handwarmers were inserted into the styrofoam balloon basket to keep the electronics warm.
携帯用カイロが発砲スチロール製のバルーンの籠の中に、電子機器を暖めるために挿入された。

The balloon was launched from a local soccer field and soared up to almost 24 km above the earth.
気球は、地元のサッカー競技場から打ち上げられ、地球より24km上に打ち上げられた。

That means lego man flew about 3 times the height of a commercial airliner, entering the stratosphere.
これは、通常の飛行機が飛ぶ高さよりも、3倍の高さであり、成層圏に突入したことを意味するんだよ。

As the balloon flew higher and higher, it eventually burst after having expanded about 10 times its original size.

Then the lego man fell back to earth.

He landed with the cameras and GPS tracking equipment 97 minutes later, about 122 km away from the launch site.
レゴマンは、発射場から122km離れたところに、97分後にカメラとGPS追跡装置を搭載して着陸した。

Notice that the lego man was not wearing a helmet during his flight ... this seems very unsafe.
