In the last year, many students at PoPbunka! have started using an iPhone.
去年から、PoPBunka!でも多くの生徒さんがiPhoneを使うようになってきました。

I got mine about 3 years ago and upgraded to an iPhone 4 last summer.
ボクは3年前にiPhoneをゲットして、去年の夏からiPhone 4を使いはじめました。

I've always preferred the black coloured iPhone but many people wanted the white version.
ブラックがカッコイイと思うんだけど、なんだかホワイトの方が欲しいって人が多いよね。

It was supposed to be released at the same time as the black version last year.
去年の時点で、ブラックとホワイトが同時発売の予定でしたが。

Unfortunately, Apple announced last year that the white iPhone was going to be delayed due to technical difficulties.
残念なことにアップル社、iPhoneのホワイトは技術的な問題のため発売を延期すると発表。

So people have been waiting for a long time to get one.
だからホワイトをずっと待ってた人たちがたくさん。

At first there was no mention of the reason for the delay but recently the story has come to light.
はじめのうちは、どうして延期になるのかって言及が全くなかったんだけど、この頃になってそれが明るみになってきました。

It seems that the original white paint was very thin and allowed light to leak into the iPhone's camera area.
ホワイトの塗装ってのがすごく薄く、iPhoneのカメラ部辺りに色が出てしまう問題があったそう。

So the white iPhone wouldn't take very good pictures.
だからホワイトの方だとうまく写真が撮れなくなっちゃうってワケ。

Apple searched for a solution for a long time until they found a small Japanese company that had developed a unique and secret painting technique.
アップル社は長いコトこの解決法を見い出せずにいたんだけど、日本の小さな会社がついにオリジナルでヒミツの塗装技術を開発したんだ。

So the white iPhone light leak problem has been solved by a Japanese company!
だから、日本の会社のおかげでiPhoneの塗装問題が解決したんだ！

Hurray for Japanese technology!
日本技術、やったね！

Expect to see the white iPhones on the street soon ... but it might be a bad time to buy one.
iPhoneホワイトバージョンを道ばたで見かけることも間もないでしょう... ただ、まだ買うには早いかも。
