Last Sunday at midnight, I left Hamamatsu with a group of volunteers heading to Miyagi Prefecture.

We were going to build some showers that will be used by people who are working in the earthquake and tsunami ravaged areas.

Two vans and a big yellow dump truck made the 15 hour long trip.
バンが2台、それから黄色のダンプカー1台で、合計15時間の長旅でした。
We finally arrived at our accommodation about 10 minutes drive outside of Minami Sanriku town in Miyagi Prefecture.
ボク達は宮城県の南三陸町から車で約10分のところにある宿泊。
Our group stayed with a lumber mill owner and his place had both his house and his lumber mill on the same site.
材木所の社長のお宅に泊まったんだけど、自宅が兼材木所になっているという場所でした。
The mill owner, Mr. Saijo, and his wife took great care of us while we were at his place.
社長の西城さん、それから奥さん2人はボク達の滞在中、ものすごく良くしてくれたんだ。
He is a big hearted man who has been working tirelessly to help his area get back on its feet.
とっても懐の広い人で、自分の町の復興のため、寝食も忘れて働きまわっている人だった。
