Quake Truck 地震トラック

While I was downtown today, I saw some fundraising activities for the Tohoku Earthquake victims.
今日街中に行ったら、東北大震災被災者のため募金活動が行われていました。

Some members of Jubilo Iwata soccer club were outside Entetsu Department Store collecting donations.
ジュビロ磐田の選手たちが、義援金を募るため遠鉄百貨店の前に。

Good on them.
偉いですね。

Also, there was an Earthquake Experience truck demonstrating what it feels like to be caught in a Shindo 7 quake.
それから、地震体験トラックも来ていて、震度7の地震が体感できるようになっていました。

While the girls looked like they were enjoying the ride, I'm sure the real thing isn't very fun.
女の子たちが楽しそうにそのトラックに乗っていたけど、実際の地震はそう楽しめるものでないことは確か。

It was nice to see people making an effort to help during these days of disaster and grim news.
ここの所、災害による痛ましい出来事の中で、人々が助け合おうと一生懸命になっているのは素晴らしいことだよね。
