I got a new bike yesterday! Yeay!
昨日おニューの自転車をゲットしたよ！
My old mountain bike finally died last month so I needed a new one.
ずっと使ってたやつが先月ダメになっちゃったから、必要になったんだ。
I had been using my old bike for about 10 years and it has finally worn out.
10年くらい乗ってた自転車もついにガタがきちゃったってワケ。
When I was in Canada last month I had a little time to buy a few things to bring back to Japan.
先月カナダに帰った時に、日本に持ち帰る物を買い出しする時間が少しとれたんだ。
My mother offered to buy me a bike which was very nice of her.
そこでお母さんが優しいことに自転車を買ってあげるって言ってくれてさ。
How could I say no?
イヤなんて言えないでしょ？
Usually, I ride mountain bikes because they are strong and beefy ... like me!
いつもは、ごっつくて丈夫なマウンテンバイクに乗るんだけど...ボクみたいだから！
But this time I decided to buy an 'urban bike'... a bike that is designed for use in the city.
だけど今回は、'シティバイク'に乗ることに... 街乗り用のやつ。
The tires are thinner on an 'urban bike" but the components are almost like those on a mountain bike.
'シティバイク'ってタイヤは細身なんだけど、部品はマウンテンバイクとほぼ変わらないんだ。
The bike I bought cost about ¥120,000 because it has a carbon fiber fork and seat post along with other high grade components.
ボクが買った自転車は質のいい部品とカーボンファイバーフォーク、シートポストを使っているもので、12万円くらい。
It's all black so it kind of looks like a 'Ninja Bike' or a 'Stealth Bike'.
真っ黒の車体だから、'忍者'か'忍び'みたい。
As you know, I am very tall so my bike is also very big ... I think most Japanese people probably won't be able to mount it.
ご存知のとおり、身長が高い分自転車もすっごく大きくて... 日本人でこれに跨げる人ってほとんどいないかも。
