Coco Chanel ココ シャネル

There is a new French movie out called 'Coco Avant Chanel'.

It means, 'Coco Before Chanel' in English.

It is the story of the French fashion designer Coco Chanel before she became famous.

Basically, the movie is about her early years.

The movie is now in limited release in Japan but it's not playing in Hamamatsu.

We'll have to wait for the DVD.

I haven't seen the movie myself but I am interested to see it.

It will be a good way for me to keep up my French!

It's quite amazing how similar the lead actress Audrey Tautou looks to the real Coco Chanel.

She's almost a doppelganger.


Chanel reshaped the fashion world and built a huge business empire but she is probably most famous for her iconic perfume No. 5 which was first sold in 1921.

It's the most famous perfume in the world and the company says that they sell a bottle every 30 seconds on average.
