夏休みのお話の続きです。
This is the continuation of my summer vacation.
旅の締めくくりは、デンマーク、友人を訪ねる旅でした。
We visited Denmark to see our friends at the end of our trip.
コペンハーゲンでは、とりあえず街中観光。
To begin, we went sightseeing in the center of Copenhagen.
偶然にも私たちと同じタイミングでコペンハーゲンを訪れていた、イギリス人の友人ティキと合流、世界は狭いとは、まさにこんな事。
We met our British friend Tiki who was coincidently visiting Copenhagen at the same time, 'it's a small world' for real.
蚤の市では、私が浜松で買ったロイヤルコペンハーゲンのアンティークと同じものを、六分の一の値段で発見！
At a flea market, I found a Royal Copenhagen antique plate of the same design I bought in Hamamatsu but at 1/6th the price!
公園に行くと、大勢のうつむき加減の子供たちが…ああ、やっぱり、ここでもポケモンGOは人気でした。
In the park, there were many children looking down ... yes, Pokemon GO is popular here too.
次に訪れたデザイン博物館では、ちょうど「Learning From Japan (日本から学ぶ)展」を開催中。
Next, we visited the Design Museum, where the 'Learning From Japan' exhibition was on by chance.
19世紀後半から浮世絵などをきっかけに、日本のアートは100年以上もの間、デンマークの芸術家達のeye-opener(目を開かせるもの)だというんですよ。
Japanese art has been an eye-opener for Danish artists and designers for more than 100 years, starting in the 19th Century with Ukiyoe.
最近特に人気の北欧デザインのルーツの一端が、日本にあるとは、なんと誇らしく嬉しいことでしょう。
It's an honor and a delightful thing that a part of the ever popular contemporary Scandinavian design is rooted in Japan.
さて、コペンハーゲンはそこそこに、電車で３時間半かけてオーフス近くの町に移動、そこには浜松で出逢った友達が待っていてくれました。
We quickly looked around the City of Copenhagen then got on a train. It took 3.5 hours to arrive at a town near Aarhus where our friends were waiting for us.
宿泊先のルイーズとヤンスの家は、白い壁と広いガラスの開口部が明るい印象の、クールで可愛いデコレーションが施された気持ちの良い家でした。
We stayed at our friends Louise and Jens's house. It was pleasant and comfortable with white walls, wide glass windows, and many cool and cute looking decorations.
私たちは、地下室にあるゲストルームに泊めてもらいました。
Our bedroom was the guest room in the basement.
翌日は、虹色の円形展望台がシンボルのアロス・オーフス美術館で、さらに他のふたりと待ち合わせ。
The next day we had an appointment to meet two other friends at the Aros Aarhus Museum, with it's rainbow-coloured circle observatory.
北欧最大の現代美術館で過ごす時間を、ゆっくり楽しみました。(続く)
We enjoyed our time in this biggest of Scandinavian contemporary art museums. (To be continued.)
